Superman & Lois S02 ending

Finally got around to finishing Superman & Lois season 2. Aand it was not good. The show has lost almost all of its charm, and the plot and the characters feel like they're written in crayon. What was that plot about merging with the other world? It made no sense, and the villain's motivation was super thin and basically nonexistent.

The next season needs to have way lower stakes, and a lot more focus on the family. And I mean the Kent family! What's with all the focus on the Cushings? I just don't get it.

Jonathan is so underdeveloped and underutilised that they could have just dropped him as a character completely, and just had one Kent son. I don't understand what the plan for him is. I may be repeating myself from earlier posts, but if you're going for the one powered son, one non powered son route, you need to do some parallels between Lois and Jonathan, give Jonathan a meaningful storyline. It's borderline insane that they haven't done that yet.

Same kinda goes for Lois, who were sort of pushed to the sidelines a bit. And for a show called "Superman & Lois", there's barely any "Clois" scenes.

Jordan got too powerful too fast, and it feels cheap to see him bond with Clark over having powers when Clark isn't doing something similar with Jonathan. It looks like they're trying to fix this with that ending on the boat, but it still feels like too little too late.

Give me back the charm of the first half of season 1 please.

Some things I did like:

  • I liked the bit with Jordan finally getting to explain to Sarah that it's not just his secret to share, and then later, Lana starting to explain to her that "the secret you learned is important in ways you don't understand". I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see her react to The Full Secret™ though. Revelations are some of the best parts of the Superman stories.
  • Nat jumping in to save the day with the hammer was really cool, and the team-up with Jordan.
