The Day of the Doctor – Doctor Who 50th anniversary squeee

Oooh, I loved it so much. I am so happy it was that good. The story was really clever, and still easy to follow. Not as confusing as some Moffat stories can be. I loved how well the 10th and 11th Doctor got along. And how the War Doctor kept pointing out their bullshit. (“I have no idea where he picks these things up.”)

For some reason, even though I’m a huge 11th Doctor fangirl, the moment in the episode that made me the most exited was the few seconds we saw of Peter Capaldi’s eyes. That stare! I did not expect that! If all the Doctors showed up to help, why not the future Doctor as well! 

I’m so sad to see Matt leave as the Doctor, but aaah, I’m so exited for Capaldi to take over. I am so glad that I’m actually looking forward to seeing the 12th Doctor. I can’t imagine how it must have felt for the crazy Tennant fangirls after he left when they were so against Matt taking the role.

I’m a bit confused about the numbering of the Doctors now. I guess that Hurt is now technically the 9th, Eccleston 10, Tennant 11, Smith 12 and Capaldi 13. My boyfriend is already calling him the thirteenth Doctor because of the "No sir, all thirteen" line. Which doooes make sense, but there is no way people are suddenly going to start changing the numbering… I think I’m just going to call him 8.5 for now or something. Or the War Doctor I guess.

I actually find it really interesting that the fans seem to be very accepting of the changes that have now been done to the show. You’d think there would be more people complaining that there is suddenly a new Doctor popping up in the middle of the line of Doctors. And Gallifrey is no longer gone. I wonder where the show is going from here. 

I’m kind of glad that Billie Piper wasn’t really playing Rose in this episode. I like Billie Piper, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of Rose.

While on the way to the cinema, we walked behind girl that was very obviously a Whovian. My boyfriend commented that “That girl is probably the type to have a tumblr blog full of Matt Smith gifs”, and then he turned to look at me. I have no idea what he’s talking about.
